Who are we?

We tried to give you a clue in our name and in our motto.

Merriam-Webster defines Conation as:

“an inclination (such as an instinct, a drive, a wish, or a craving) to act purposefully.”

Living purposefully, acting purposefully, and doing business purposefully all require a consciousness – a will to do so!   They also require a broader perspective to see beyond the moment – and sometimes around corners.  They require vision.  Finally – vision, and the will to act purposefully, are limited if one lacks the context provided by experience. If we draw a comparison to the benefits that the experience of travel provides, we can draw insight from a popular author:

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving”. – Terry Pratchett

Where did we come from?

Our founding member challenged the status quo at large banks and insurance companies. He founded several startups in retail (physical and online), healthcare, and payments. He was exposed to IP creation and protection, M&A, global policy making, and large-scale product development in the FinTech space.  Along the way, he noticed that many companies – both large and small, young and mature, domestic or international – seemed to be making the same mistakes over and over.  Rather than just shake his head at the waste – he decided to act! You could summarize all this and say that

“….our roots are in technology, payments products, global strategy, and a LOT of experience!”

What is special about what we can offer? 

During his journey – our founder made a lot of contacts in a lot of places.  He volunteered his knowledge, experience, and help many times and established a reputation for seeing further than the immediate task. This attracted others who complemented his foundation with a multitude of experiences and relationships of their own.  In short, our value proposition is that we offer a broader set of skills and experience in single consultants that most of the larger agencies provide in entire departments.   This is because we are attracting seasoned veterans rather than recruiting bright but inexperienced analysts to cut their teeth on YOUR engagement!
